Allotment update – 30th August

An update from the plot.

Cucumbers – I picked 11 cucumbers this weekend from 2 plants! Quite amazing really, last year only had about 3 in all! Sticks and stones I guess.

Pumpkins – will not grow any bigger but at least we can eat them.

Tomatoes – Bush tomatoes are much easier to grow for me, no tying up!

Sweetcorn – Brown tassels but not ready yet 😦

Celery – Slow but it’ll get there with all the rain

Courgettes – Picked 3 in 2 weeks, not too many in one go I hope!

Well done. It’s always exciting no matter how big or small the harvest ! I have decided to grow bush tomatoes next year. My Gardener’s delight are not a delight this year, in fact they have been rubbish for the last few years. You have had an amazing year, keep up the good work.
